PBD phantoms are high fidelity physical models of the human body's cardiovascular system.

Our phantoms are targeted for minimally invasive interventional device companies for product development, optimization, and training.

The phantoms are based on patient specific imaging data that includes the important anatomical landmarks necessary for image guided treatment. They are biomechanically relevant, magnetic resonance imaging compatible and capable of physiological flow and motion.

Properly employed, PBD phantoms will help companies reduce development costs, shorten development cycles, improve clinical performance, and speed clinical adoption.

In the FDA's view, the applied sciences' needs for medical product development have not kept pace with the tremendous advances in the basic sciences. The new science is not being used to guide the technology development process in the same way that it is accelerating the technology discovery process.

For medical technology, performance is measured in terms of product safety and effectiveness. Not enough applied scientific work has been done to create new tools to get fundamentally better answers about how the safety and effectiveness of new products can be demonstrated, in faster time frames, with more certainty, and at lower costs.
